The City of Cisco is located in the heart of the Texas Big Country. It is 45 miles east of Abilene and 105 miles west of Fort Worth at the crossroads of Highway 183 and Interstate Highway 20.
Cisco was founded in 1881 with the entry of the Texas and Pacific (T&P) Railway. The town is named for New York banker John Jay Cisco who arranged financing for the railroad. Cisco is home to the first hotel acquired by Conrad Hilton in 1919.
The town enjoys a beautiful lake to the north and is surrounded by ranch and farm land. A bustling commerce serves residents, visitors, and travelers.
